The DNA of life

R. Hakan Kırkoğlu is a colourful personality. He took the brave decision to leave behind his successful banking career to make his dreams come true. He compares astrology to DNA, claiming that astrology is the DNA of human life. “Our DNA structure shows the colour of our hair, eyes and the illnesses we are susceptible to. The astrological chart can also be regarded as the DNA of life. Let me put this another way: just like magnetic swipe cards that open certain doors for us, so does the chart, too, open certain doors in our lives and not others. Life tries to steer us towards particular doors. Astrology shows us how we can flow together with life, be in it. Astrology is about adjusting ourselves to the rhythm of life. It is an extremely simple, but at the same time, perfect language. Using this language of the 12 signs, we can better understand certain events and periods we encounter. We can see all of life’s dimensions in these 12 signs. We can see the different modes of behaviour in life from Aries to Pisces.”

Who is R. Hakan Kırkoğlu?

Hakan Kırkoğlu worked in treasury, research and financial institutions departments in the banking sector from 1993 until 2000. Denizbank was his last stop in his banking career which he left in 2000 to work on astrology. He studied at the Faculty of Astrological Studies in the UK. He set up his own consultancy firm in Turkey. With a group of colleagues, Kırkoğlu founded Astrobil (Association of Astrology Union) in 2000. He served as the global astrology coordinator at the United Astrology Conference (UAC 2008) held in the USA. Kırkoğlu is also in charge of the first ever course teaching astrology at a university in Turkey.
