He is studying on defining physiological and psychological reasons of our behaviours and decisions based on his background in the field of neuroanatomy. He is adapting these scientifically proven outputs to the business life and designing training programs that has economical value under the name of Academy Neuro Institute of Neuroscience Training & Coaching.

Thanks to neuroscience he managed for people to define their emotional states through mindfulness and deep insight. So that without having to react to stimuli we may have the conscious choice of how to respond. For those studies he is benefiting from the source of “Emotional Skills and Competencies (ESaC) – Evaluating Truthfulness and Credibility (ETaC) – Truth and Lies – The Science (TLS) ve Facial Action Coding System (FACS)” developed by Paul EKMAN.

As a seasoned executive coach he is developing new tools related to self-leadership, emotional intellegence and communication for facilitating the adaptation of “new generation management model” through coaching and mentoring for the business world. Within this context he designed “5 STEPS OF NEW GENERATION LEADERSHIP MODEL” that consist of “Harmony>Desire>Motion>Satisfaction>Repeat” based on neuroscience to increase trust, loyalty and performans in the work places.

Common philosophy of all his works is “programming and training the brain to think”. He believes that we can transform to a people magnet in this exploration voyage when we strive to be impressed and not not to impress, to be taught not to teach.

He is writing books, articles and giving lectures for people to get inspired by those revelations and make their own discoveries.

He is the author of two Best Selling Books that one is named Nöro Satış Müşteri Mıknatısı Olmanın Formülü (Neuro Sales For Success) and the other is Maskeli Balo (Masquerade Ball at Communication).

Biography

Dr. Türktan’s life mission is to promote female entrepreneurship in Turkey as well as to strengthen the position of women economically and socially.  

Dr. Türktan spent the first four years of her working life at New York University as an academic. She has also worked in positions where she had authority over auditing, human resources, quality and legal affairs, and took on various top level management roles. For many years she worked intensively in management positions in non-governmental organisations.

For a significant part of her career, Dr. Türktan took on various senior management tasks and also served as the only board member and vice chairman of the board at ABB Electric Industry, regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious companies. She put her backing behind many key decisions over the company’s journey from a value of $14 million to $350 million. Türktan now provides international training within the scope of her “Invitation to leadership” programme, the strategy and mission of which is to “train more leaders within companies.” She has also played an active role in training successful leaders both locally and abroad.

Türktan’s successful career has been thanks to the positive spirit and foresight that she applies to entrepreneurship, her well timed purchasing and sales decisions, her efficient analyses and her “win-win” investment techniques. She recently chose to put an end to her current business life and began managing a hotel in Bodrum. However, she was not able to completely let go of the world of business and took on positions on various boards and became the chairwoman of the Women Entrepreneurs Association. Under Türktan’s management the association has achieved its record highest number of projects and its highest ever revenue figures. She has given various training sessions and speeches on entrepreneurship and the basic economic principles for success in business life. She also presented recommendations on sustainability on behalf of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Who is Dr. Gülden Türktan?

After graduating from Bosphorus University’s Business School with BA and MA degrees, Dr. Gulden Turktan went on to receive post graduate degrees from New York University and Marmara University. She holds an MBA, an M. Phil and a Ph.D. She began her career as a research assistant and instructor at New York University. She then took on a top management position at ABB, a huge international power plant and electricity generation company in Istanbul. She worked at the International Investments Association (YASED) of Turkey for two periods as a board member and later as vice-chairman of the board. Dr. Turktan was the head of the Work Council of TUSIAD for Employment and Social Security Systems. She was one of the founders of Turkey’s Women Entrepreneurs Association KAGIDER and she served as its president.

Murat Yülek

Economist, Professor of Economics at Istanbul Commerce University

Biography

Dr. Yulek is a professor of economics at Istanbul Commerce University. Murat holds and has held high level executive responsibilities in financial institutions including director and chairman in financial and non-financial institutions. He is also a partner at PGlobal Global Advisory and Training Services Ltd, an Ankara based international advisory company. He has project, corporate finance and economic development experience in various countries in Europe, Africa, North America and Asia with tenures at institutions including the International Monetary Fund, the Islamic Development Bank and the Turkish Prime Ministry.

He has taught at Georgetown and Yale Universities. Previously, he also served as Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at THK University in Turkey. He authored a number of books and articles in economics, development and finance. His most recent book has been published by Springer, New York. This book, edited   by Dr. Yulek and Dr. Travis Taylor, discusses suitable design of procurement policies aiming at increasing the technological level in emerging countries. Murat also writes columns at newspapers and financial journals and is a frequent speaker at various for a organized by institutions such as Global Economic Symposium, Yale University, Duke University, Prime Ministry of Turkey, COMCEC, Economic Cooperation Organization, Dubai Economic Council, CFO Forum-Vienna, The Economist Round Table, Wirtshaftsrat. He is actively involved in the organization of Istanbul Finance Summit (Chairman of the Advisory Board) and Sarajevo Business Forum (Member of the Advisory Board). Wilco van Herpen is a Dutchman who has settled in Turkey for long time. He has taken a fancy on this country, to which he came by coincidence, and never left. Wilco van Herpen lives and works in Turkey since 1999 and has a quite adventurous life. Wilco van Herpen is a speaker in demand by people in search of extraordinary stories from a different perspective. Wilco van Herpen gives speeches on exciting life stories, travel adventures, breaking habits, cliche-free photography, extraordinary culinary tastes and many other issues on life. He also continues to produce TV shows and participate in photograph exhibitions.

 Born in Bussum, the Netherlands, Wilco started cooking in his early days following the footsteps of his father and worked as a cook for 17 years after the culinary academy. He then studied photography and started to work in this area. He came to Turkey in 1999. He started here as a photographer but changed course to TV shows he produced for TRT, TV8, TRT Avaz, IZ TV, NTV and CNN Türk. Who is Wilco van Herpen? 

He was born in 1963 in the Netherlands. He followed his father’s footsteps and started as a cook. While working as a cook for a hotel in the Netherlands, he came to Turkey for the first time in 1988 with his girlfriend of Turkish origin. He started photography after he went back to his native country. He travelled in South Africa, Namibia and Lesotho and returned to the Netherlands as a freelance photographer. Wilco worked as a freelance photographer for the Dutch media and took photographs during the Gazi District incidents in 1995. This was his first connection to Turkey. In 1999, he decided to come to Turkey and live in Istanbul. He served as the representative of the Dutch state television in Turkey. He also worked as a chef for a number of restaurants. From 2011 to 2014, he had a column at Hürriyet Daily News. Wilco Van Herpen is a documentary producer, cook, photographer and journalist, continues to take part in exhibitions and slide shows and gives seminars.

Chef Ebru Baybara Demir, the winner of the 2023 Basque Culinary World Prize (BCWP), which is called the Nobel of the gastronomy, became the first chef to bring this honoured award to Turkey. Recognized for her remarkable contributions to social gastronomy over the past two decades, Chef Baybara Demir has been acknowledged for her innovative solutions to societal challenges and needs, especially the socioeconomic repercussions of the migrant crisis, combating the impact of climate change on soil rejuvenation, and promoting local development through the perspective of gastronomy. Prior to her first prize, Chef Baybara Demir was ranked among the top 10 best chefs in the world at the Basque Culinary World Prize two consecutive years.

Ebru Baybara Demir has moved to Mardin in 1999 after completed her bachelor’s degree in Marmara University, Department of Tourism Management. Ebru Baybara Demir took the road to Mardin with a dream to meet the city with tourism and established the very first touristic restaurant in Mardin by the change she created, Cercis Murat Konağı, with twenty-one women who believed in her.  Demir, who has conducted extensive research on Anatolian cuisine for more than 15 years, has made many social gastronomy projects happen in the region, especially in Mardin, beyond being a chef, with the philosophy of “The taste of the meal on the table comes from the soil it takes and from the lives it benefits”. Within this period, she achieved loads of prizes on both national and international levels. She presented Turkey in World Gastronomy Tourism Forum held by UNWTO and 5th Food on the Edge Summit that brought gastronomy elites and authorities together via the projects she conducted in the field. Realizing the firsts in the field of social gastronomy with measurable results, Demir also draws attention to the creation of sustainable local economies from the protection of the natural balance of seed, soil and water in its projects, and the ability to create a livelihood for everyone who works from the process in which the product reaches the consumer from the soil. Ebru Baybara Demir, under the roof of Soil to Plate Agricultural Development Cooperative, of which she is among the founders of Mesopotamia’s oldest wheat, Sorgul Wheat, Şemim Soaps, El Ele Elden Ele (Hand in Hand) Store and online sales platform, as well as local products with new initiatives to be implemented in a short time. She continues to work for the ideal cooperative model that brings together local cuisine and local human resources to create a role model in the national and international arena.

Ebru Baybara Demir carries out the Biodegradable Waste Project, which started in Diyarbakır and spread to many provinces of the country under the “We Are Healing Life” motto. “Biodegradable Waste Management Project from Soil to Soil” is a regenerative agriculture project that includes improving the soil, supporting the farmer and contributing to the production of healthy food by transform the biodegradable food waste consisting of vegetables and fruits in the market into compost. Within the scope of the project, the usable foods collected in the marketplaces are brought to the soup kitchens and inspected under the supervision of a food engineer and are used with a 2-stage production as “Canned and Packaged Products” and “Hot Meal Production”.

She is the only Turkish Chef that her documentary “12 Zero-Waste Chefs of the World” was made by HBO Max which is American online content platform. Ebru Baybara Demir was awarded the Aenne Burda Creative Leadership Award at the DLD Munich Conference held in January 2023. Demir has been presented to women with brave, optimistic, innovative, creative and inspiring qualities since 2006.

Bihter Ayyıldız, iletişim dalında farklı şapkaları olan bir reklamcı, gazeteci, danışman ve pazarlama uzmanı. Fransa’da aldığı sanat tarihi eğitiminin ardından, reklam sektöründen marka iletişimi tecrübelerini lüks markaların iletişimlerinde kullanmak üzere sektör değiştirdi. Moda ve lüks marka severlerin yakından takip ettiği Ayyıldız, önemli markaların yol arkadaşı. Profesyonel hayatına gazetecilikle başlayıp stratejik pazarlama danışmanlığı yapan Ayyıldız, son zamanlarda yoğun mesai harcadığı influence marketing ve uzantısı olan Love and Hate Marketing’le pazarlama iletişiminin sınırlarını zorluyor.
